The history of "Hydromec" dates back to April 1950 when the USSR Ministry of Electric Power Stations issued an edict concerning the launch of the “Rybinsk hydromechanization factory” in the town of Rybinsk, Yaroslvl Region.
The new enterprise started the manufacture of dredgers, i.e. special-purpose machines necessary for the construction of power stations and water control structures. Dredgers have a rather wide field of application: they are used for building dams, motorways and railways, carrying out dredging operations, mining sand and gravel, arranging building sites and developing diamond and gold deposits. Thus, our machinery was used for the erection of all hydraulic power stations and hydraulic works at the Volga Cascade, the Volga-Don Canal, the Bratsk and Ust-Ilimsk hydroelectric power stations, the Asuan dam in Egypt, as well as for the construction of building estates and industrial enterprises in cities.

Our plant is included in the Russian River Register as an enterprise carrying out quality research, construction and repairs of industrial ships. It should be pointed out that for the time being "Hydromec" is the only plant in Russia specializing in the manufacture of dredgers. In the shortest time frame we can build all kinds of dredgers of required types and sizes. Over 55 years, the enterprise has released more than 1200 dredgers.
The plant’s production capacity makes sit possible to construct up to 30 machines a year. Besides, we provide overhaul services and supplies of spare parts.
